Haunted Crisfield

Ananias Crockett House in Crisfield, Maryland – Somerset County

Crisfield Ghost Walk Added – August 23 – 7:30 pm

The City of Crisfield is Maryland’s most southern town and certainly one of its most historic. On Friday, August 23, 2013 at 7:30 pm, Mindie Burgoyne, who is also author of the book Haunted Eastern Shore Ghostly Tales from East of the Chesapeake, will lead a walking tour around town and tell about Crisfield’s haunted history as well as what people say today about the haunted places in Crisfield.

REGISTER FOR THE CRISFIELD GHOST WALK

This is Burgoyne’s fourth Ghost tour covering Crisfield.

On the Crisfield Ghost Walk, Mindie Burgoyne will tell tales of watermen who worked with ghostly first mates, a Washington DC doctor who built two remarkable homes in Crisfield, an unlucky house, ghostly choirs, and the child of a seafood baron who still plays in the yard he ran in 70 years ago.  Guests will also see the only library in America that also serves as a mausoleum, and a Maryland Governor’s childhood home. Hear about a death that (allegedly) caused the McCready Hospital to lose power, and a ghost who likes to cook.

Crisfield is one hauntedly, beautiful town. The 1.6 mile ghost walk cover the stories mentioned above and more. Consider coming early and having a meal at the Circle Inn, the Blue Crab Cafe,  the  Watermans Inn or one of the crab houses in Crisfield.  If you don’t have a meal, at least leave some time before the tour to visit the Ice Cream Gallery and watch the sunset over the Tangier Sound on their nice porch.

The tour meets at 6:45 pm at the corner of Somerset Avenue and Main Street. We’ll meet in front of the Baptist Temple.  The walk is approximately 1.6 miles and will take about 90 minutes.  Advanced registration and payment is required to reserve your spot.
